CANCELLATION POLICY

If you decide to cancel your booking 30 days prior to arrival, you will get a full refund. 

If it is less than 30 days but greater than 14 days you forfeit 20% of the booking value, but these funds can be used as a credit for another stay. Cancellations or changes to bookings must be made at least 14 days prior to the check in date and time or you will be charged the full amount.

Covid 19: We appreciate that the ongoing Covoid pandemic can create uncertainty and border closures can happen without notice. Because of this, we will give all guests a full refund should they be unable to travel due to state or federal directives.

GENERAL HOUSE RULES

We hope you get to enjoy the many comforts of Lascelles Ballarat & Lyon House.

Here is a reminder about our house rules – and please leave the house just as you’ve found it for our next guests to enjoy.

When you book you are 100% responsible for the actions of all your guests. We would appreciate it that your fellow guests are aware of these house rules as their behaviour.

  • NOISE: Please respect your fellow neighbours by keeping noise to an acceptable level.
  • TV: All audio-visual equipment (e.g. TV, sound bar and Blu Ray Player) must not be modified or changed including the removal of any HDMI cables. You will be charged for a technician to come out if we need to reset it for the next guests as our cleaners are not technical AV specialists.
  • FURNITURE: Everyone inspires to be an interior decorator but please refrain from moving furniture and homewares. If objects are moved during your stay please put them back to where they were at check in. The reason for this is sometimes our cleaners may work alone and are unable to move heavy furniture. In the past we have had to get our handyman to assist them. If we need the handyman’s services, his call out fee will be charged back to you.
  • NO SMOKING inside. Smoking outdoors is permitted but please ensure you dispose of butts in an ecologically friendly manner i.e. not in the garden beds or any pot plants.
  • FIREPIT: The firepit is only to be used in the autumn and winter months due to potential fire bans that could be in place. For up to date information on this go to: https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-restrictions/total-fire-bans-and-ratings. Firewood is not provided but can be sourced at the Coles Express petrol station in Sturt Street near Lascelles.

ADDITIONAL GUESTS

We understand that guest numbers can change. Prior to your arrival, we will reconfirm with you the final number of guests so that the beds and house can be set up accordingly. However, if more beds have been used or there have been more guests staying than what has been booked, there will be additional charges post check-out.

BREAKAGES

We understand accidents happen. All household items are audited at the end of your stay. Please bring to our attention of any breakages so we can ensure that we source an alternative item before the next guest arrives so that it does not impact their stay.

ENTERTAINMENT AREAS

We are sure you will make use of the outdoor entertaining area at the back of the house. This also includes the fire pit area which is communal for all guests.

Please note that there can’t be any loud music outside and any activities need to be wrapped no later than 10pm to minimise noise and impact to our neighbours.

When booking the #6 Ground Floor Apartment you have your own exclusive outdoor entertainment space. No other guests can use this. The #8 Terrace guests have their own entertainment table to use. Guests of the #6 Top Floor Apartment only have access to the fire pit area.

LOST ITEMS

On check out please make sure you have all your personal items before locking the house for the final time. We do not take responsibility for any lost items after check out.

However if you have misplaced or are missing any items please let us know as soon as possible and we will ask the cleaner if they have found them. If we do manage to locate them, we will ask you to confirm your desired delivery method and we’ll provide you with the postage cost before proceeding. Please allow a minimum of 14 days for the return of your item(s).

PETS

We appreciate that it is difficult finding suitable accommodation for our pets and it is important that they travel with us.

Please book our pet friendly properties at Lascelles Terraces on Errard Street North i.e. #6 The Mainstay (ground floor apartment) or The Grand Terrace. Unfortunately pets are not permitted in The Overlook  due to it being carpeted and potential issues with noise.

Our property welcomes house trained pets (ideally hypoallergenic) of most sizes and breeds. Maximum of 2 pets allowed per booking.

PET HOUSE RULES:

  • Pets are permitted on prior arrangement, so it is important that we are advised at the time of your booking that pets will be accompanying you on your trip. Failure to do so, will result in your booking cancelled and no refund issued.
  • There is a back yard at the rear of the property for your dog to do their “business”. Please pick up after your pet and dispose in the green rubbish bins located at either the front of the property. We don’t want surprises for the next guest.
  • When your dogs are roaming the back garden the area can be secured by another metal mesh gate that is located at the border. Guests usually keep this gate closed for security and privacy.
  • Your pet will need to be kept indoors while you are away as the backyard is a common area across both properties. There is no secure place for them to be while you are away, so we recommend that they stay indoors or go with you when you leave.
  • Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beds on furniture.
